The tower public areas were traditional and very comfortable with cozy sitting spaces, a grand staircase and an amazing library room. Delightful Christmas decorations in all spaces. Good location and close to the city of Edinburg. Staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming but overloaded due to a wedding event. Excellent, plentiful breakfast.

Staff were absolutely amazing each and everyone of them,while in restaurant a couple were so rude to the poor waitress that everyone there felt it, also shame on them if they happen to read this while leaving a negative review which wouldn't surprise us.Special mention has to go to Lynne ....you were amazing to us all and I hope that the owners of Carberry Tower appreciate what a gem you are.

Breakfast was top quality with a good range of options to choose from. The room was cosy and comfortable - we were in one of the lower priced Classic rooms, so I imagine the more expensive rooms would be even better. Unfortunately we didn't get chance to dine in the bistro due to other commitments, but the menu did look enticing.

Exceptional would be an understatement when describing our visit on Carberry Tower! The tower is located inside the woods on a magnificent location. Around the tower you will find a lot of wildlife with variety of animals. The staff of the tower, especially Mr Lee, were amazing and their type of service has reached another level. As for the room we couldn't ask for anything more as it was very comfortable, clean and included every amendity anyone would need. Lastly, the breakfast was absolutely amazing. Really, we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! Thank you for everything.

My better half and I returned to Carberry Tower for a relaxing night away plus dinner in the restaurant - yet again we were delighted with every aspect. The room we had was different to our previous stay but was equally as comfortable, very quiet and bed outstanding. There were stairs leading part way up into an old turret where the spacious bathroom was located. Evening meal and wine was delicious - great choice and very relaxed. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, was hot, freshly made and as always, staff very friendly. Bar had excellent selection of malt whiskies - another perfect stay and will be back at some point. Thank you.

A historical place to stay in. Common rooms, library and tea rooms are amazing. Feels like you live back in those days when they first built the place. Most of the staff was kind and helpful. Gardens and ground was beautiful. Had an early morning walk to the hills behind the hotel.

Setting. Relaxed atmosphere and friendly but not intrusive staff from reception to bar and restaurant chef and wait staff. The gardens ,views and mansions interior decor are opulent and sumptuous Loved the library and music room which contrasted perfectly with the restaurant, roaring fire and nooks and crannies, staircases and artworks. Bartender (Prestonpans finest ambassador!) The very capable,astute and delightful waitress and Ian for the tastiest chips!

We loved the history and charm of this place. We were only there for one night but will definitely be back. We had a lovely welcome the minute we walked in, the staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful, some of the furniture (chair in the corner) could do with a clean and some of the throws and pillows could be a bit fresher but the bed itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable which was more important to me. We went down for a pre dinner drink and spoke to the bar tender who was very pleasant and gave us an interesting historical account of the hotel. The food was lovely and dinning room was beautifully lit and had a lovely atmosphere. All in all we will definitely return to this hotel.

The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful here - nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast is delicious and very generous, and dinner in the Bistro is exceptional. The hotel is seeped in history (we visited because the Tower appears in our family ancestry), creating a wonderful atmosphere and the substantial grounds are beautiful. Without question, the highlight are the scones served for afternoon tea - we have tasted a lot, including those in top London establishments and these were by far the best, anywhere, ever!

We stayed at Princess Margaret Suite, and it was an amazing room overlooking the garden. Breakfast was alright. Quite basic. But on one of the days, they let us choose from the menu and we had to place an order. So that's a little bit different and it was good! Dinner was good too. We ordered Fish & Chips and one thing we observed is that the portion of the Fish & Chips is not consistent. When we ordered it on our first night, we noticed the couple next to our table got a big portion of fish, while ours was small. On our last night stay, we ordered again and this time we got a big portion. :|
